 Huobi and Poloniex merger plan

According to The Block, Justin Sun said that Huobi and Poloniex are independent companies. There is no merger plan at present, but it is possible.

Both exchanges have investment relationships with Justin Sun. Poloniex was acquired from Circle by Asian Investment Group in 2019, and Justin Sun is one of the members.

Huobi announced last month that it was sold to Hong Kong investment company Baiyu Capital. "Wu Says Blockchain" broke the news at the time that Justin Sun was the behind-the-scenes financier. Although Justin Sun did not admit it, as Huobi's global consultant and the main representative in Huobi's activities, his importance is self-evident.

Block data, Huobi is currently the fourth largest in terms of trading volume. Poloniex is the sixth largest. Although the rankings are close, the trading volume gap is more than 10 times. Huobi's trading volume last month was about 16 billion US dollars, while Poloniex's trading volume in the same period was only about 1 billion US dollars.
