After the big rise during the weekend, cryptocurrencies generally saw profit-taking on Monday (9th) Beijing time.

According to Coindesk, as of 15:53 Beijing time, the price of Bitcoin was $43,655, down 3.0% in 24 hours. The price of Bitcoin rose in the past two days and once rose above $45,000. Major currencies such as Ethereum also generally fell, with a drop of 3-7%. Dogecoin fell even more, with a 24-hour drop of 8.6%.

The market believes that the main reason for the previous rise in Bitcoin prices was that 126 large Bitcoin shorts covered their shorts last Friday.

Digital asset company Zerocap pointed out that whales holding 100 to 10,000 Bitcoins are establishing long-term positions, which indicates that the Bitcoin market structure is moving in an upward direction. Large capital outflows from exchanges are also accelerating, indicating a lack of short-term selling intentions.

Glassnode data shows that active addresses with more than 0.1 Bitcoins are at their highest level in two months, which is also recognized as a bullish signal.

Toby Chapple, head of trading at Zerocap, said that Bitcoin's 200-day moving average is currently at $45,000, which brings some resistance. Once this point is successfully broken, Bitcoin may accelerate its rise.

Despite market concerns about the proposed crypto tax reporting provisions in the US infrastructure bill, institutional activity has risen again.
Chapple said: This is reflected in the Grayscale premium reaching positive territory, although its speed is slow.
